KING OYO TO PROMOTE, PROTECT CULTURAL HERITAGE

The King of Tooro His Majesty Dr. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV has disclosed that Tooro Kingdom is set to promote, preserve and protect the tangible, intangible cultural heritage.

He said that this will make culture and heritage a key ingredient of our Tourism offerings and promotion.

He was yesterday afternoon addressing his guests during the 26^th coronation anniversary held at his Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal.

According to King Oyo, they will also mobilize youths for economic empowerment by tackling the youth unemployment challenge through; skilling youth,  innovation and entrepreneurship, micro, small and medium enterprises, the creative industry, business system development, youth cooperatives and micro industries, pro-youth business partnerships and micro financing.

He said that as part of the Kingdom partnership with the Uganda Industrial Research Institute, they will work together with other partners to establish a state-of-art Industrial Research Institute in Tooro Kingdom which will offer hands-on skills training, value addition and product development.
