KIRUHURA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER MURDERED IN MBARARA

Police in Rwizi region are investigating the circumstance under which
the Kashongi sub-county community development officer in kiruhura
district was murdered by unknown thugs in Rwemirinzi cell,
Katete ward in Nyamitanga division here in Mbarara municipality.

The murdered is indentified as Isaac Atwiine 45 years a resident of
Rwemirinzi cell, Katete ward in Nyamitanga division here in Mbarara
municipality.

According to police Atwiine was last night cut to death by unknown
thugs and his body was found in a pool of blood, a short distance from
his home.

Ibin Ssenkumbi the Mbarara police spokesperson says that the deceased was murdered after he had gone to a nearby trading center for a small shooping

He adds that investigations into the matter are under way.
