KISORO COURT CLERK ARRESTED FOR SOLICITING 50000=BRIBE

IN KISORO—-
A clerk at Kisoro Magistrates Court has been arrested for allegedly
soliciting a bribe of 50.000shillings from a complainant.
Derogations Tereraho (55) from Nyagashenje village Northern ward
Northern division Kisoro municipality was arrested yesterday by
detectives of the Inspectorate of Government in Kisoro district.
Tereraho was picked from Kisoro magistrate’s court offices. He is now
being held at Kabale Central Police Station.
Tereraho is being accused of obtaining the money from Baryora
Augustine in order have access to his file which is before the grade
one magistrate pending judgment. It is said that Baryora reported the
assault case to Kanaba police station in 2014 and since then the case
has not been disposed off.
According to the Inspectorate of Government Kigezi region Sam Agaba,
the complainant lodged a complaint claiming that Tereraho has been
demanding for money whenever he has been turning up to hear his case
and he had paid him 350,000shillings.
Agaba adds that when he received the complaint he thought authority
from head office and they arrested Tereraho with money.
Agaba adds that the accused will be taken today to Kampala to
anti-corruption court to answer charges of soliciting and receiving a
bribe. He is calling on the public to report all public officers who
demand for bribes before they receive it, so that they can be easily
trapped and arrested.

However Tereraho denies the accusations saying that Baryora gave him
the 50,000shillings thanking him for helping him whenever he turns up
for his case hearing.
