KISORO DISTRICT KHADI SUSPENDED FOR CAUSING DIVISIONISM AMONG MUSLIMS

Kisoro district Muslim Khadi Fazil Ngenda has been suspended for three months for allegedly causing division among Moslem community in Kisoro district.
Sheikh Asumani Fazili Ngenda who has been the district Khadi for 9 years was suspended in a meeting held today at Virunga hotel Kisoro municipality.
The meeting was chaired by the Ankole- Kigezi regional Khadi, Sheikh Abdallah Katamba.
The district Muslim council led by Abdu Kyomukama accused Sheikh Asumani Fazili Ngenda of leading pressure group against council’s decisions hence causing divisionism among Muslim community in Kisoro district.
Sheikh Asumani Fazili Ngenda has been a district Khadi for a period of 9 years.
Abdu Kyomukama said that the Ankole- Kigezi regional Khadi, Sheikh Abdallah Katamba directed Kisoro Muslim council to select and send names to his office in a period of three months who will in turn send them to the Uganda Muslim supreme for selection of lucky person to be the Kisoro district Khadi.
It is said that the Ankole- Kigezi regional Khadi, Sheikh Abdallah Katamba is the current caretaker for the Kisoro Muslim community. Sheikh Abdallah Katamba delegated Kisoro district Muslim community chairperson Abdu Kyomukama to represent him in the district.
However, Sheik Fazili Ngenda denied allegations and said that he was sent in a leave of three months as the Ankole- Kigezi regional council investigates the allegations
He said that the allegations result from some leaders who have failed to give accountability of assets of the mosque.
