KISORO MAGISTRATE’S COURT STAFF ARRESTED RED HANDED WITH SUSPECTED BRIBE

A staff at Kisoro magistrate’s court was yesterday arrested on allegation that he received a bribe.
Vianney Ngororano 29 years a staff at the above mentioned court and resident of Gatovu village hospital ward southern division Kisoro municipality allegedly took a bribe from Innocent Niyonzima.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that Ngororana was arrested after a tip off from Niyonzima that he had given a khaki envelop (bribe) to the suspect with a plan secure a bail for his relatives who was remanded to Kisoro Gout prisons on charges of theft under CRB 096/2022 CPS Kisoro).
Maate said that after his arrest, search was immediately done on him and a kaki envelope containing fifty thousand shillings notes worth 400,000= (four hundred thousand shillings), photocopies of national identities from Niyonzima Innocent and Mugisha Ezra, plus their recommendation letters were all recovered from the suspect by D/ASP Denis Onyanga (D/CID officer Kisoro).
The suspect however maintained that the money was for Counsel Ramathan Akiiki of Mutungi and Company Advocates and was a legal fee for bail Application for the remanded but not a bribe.
The Suspect recorded a statement in regard to the allegations and was granted Police bond.
