L. BUNYONYI CONTINUES TO CLAIM LIVES AS P.2 PUPIL DROWNS

A Primary two pupil at Amatsiko primary School in Muko Sub County, Rubanda district yesterday drowned in Lake Bunyonyi when he had gone to learn how to swim.
The deceased Alex Tumusiime aged 14, who hails from Kagadi district, has been staying with his grandmother in Hamukaaka cell, Kabere Parish in Muko Sub County.
According to the deceased’s Uncle Alex Niwagaba, the deceased drowned yesterday at around 1:00 pm, in Lake Bunyonyi within Hamukaaka village, when he had gone to graze goats but instead decided to learn how to swim.
Niwagaba added that locals started searching for the body of the victim up to last evening at around 6:00 pm, when his body was retrieved.
By the time of compiling the story, police had not commented and burial of the deceased was underway in the home of the deceased’s grandmother in Hamukaaka village.
This follows another incident which happened on Monday last week; a Catechist of Kayanga Catholic Church Nafutali Tizihaboona drowned in Lake Bunyonyi, when he was sailing on a canoe coming from Butanda to Lyakarimira to attend a church meeting.
