Late delivery of voting materials in Mbarara city has delayed today’s voting exercise.
The voting exercise that was supposed to kick start at 11:00am in the morning has been delayed by late delivery of voting materials at most of polling stations.
Kakyebezi Robert the interim city Mayor told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the late delivery of voting materials in some of the polling stations was intended.
According to the presiding officer at Kisenyi A, Mr Hassan Katumba voting materials were received early in the morning at exactly 08:00Am but voters refused to come in early to check in their names in the voter register
Sharuwa Muzamil an election observer who is also a daughter to Muzamil Sekajja one of the candidates noted that voters at some polling stations like Mandela, Kisenyi B, engaged themselves in feast fights since they were claiming that president Museveni allowed them to vote even when their names do not appear in the voter register.
Efforts to get a comment from the NRM primaries registrar Mbarara city Yoramu Kacumita were futile since his known contacts were switched off.
