LC1 CHAIRPERSON ARRESTED FOR VANDALIZING, STEALING KABALE-KATUNA ROAD EQUIPMENT

Police in Kabale have arrested and detained Hamuganda village LC1 chairperson in Kitumba subcounty kabale district over vandalizing and theft of road guards and signs of kabale Katuna road.
Richard Byamukama, 45, a black Smith was arrested on Friday afternoon on a tip off after a number of items were sighted at his working place.
The kigezi region police spokesperson Elly matte told our reporter that this came after a good number of road side guards , road signs and their standpipes were missing and stolen from Kabale Katuna road.
Matte adds that an operation was made Hamuganda village Kitumba sub county where there are many black Smith who use it for selfish gains and that’s how the area chairperson was arrested and others are still on the run.
He notes that it is shameful to find a leader vandalizing such properties instead of guarding them.
The case was registered at Kabale main police station.
