National Resistance Movement [NRM] LC 1 flag bearers in Bushenyi Ishaka municipality have expressed fear that they may lose elections after some NRM members starting to support candidates from other political parties and independent candidates.
According to Mary Karooro Okurut the Minister for General duties in the office of the Prime Minister Personal differences and disagreements are one of the factors that are likely to lead NRM party to lose the forth coming local council (LC1) elections in Bushenyi.
Minister Karooro noted that some of the party members do not want to support the NRM flag bearers in their respective local areas because they are not on good personal terms.
She said this today during a meeting with the Ishaka- Bushenyi municipality NRM flag bearers for the forthcoming election that took place at the Bushenyi municipal multipurpose hall aimed at laying strategies to ensure NRM wins across the country. The flag bearers were also given Ug shs 100,000 to facilitate them in the election process.
Gordon Arinda cowboy the ishaka Bushenyi municipality mp has revealed that according to the President’s registers and visitors’ books are to be used so as to identify residents and visitors respectively at LC level to help to curb down the increased crime rate in the country.
Candidates also requested the police to provide enough security during the period of elections because they feel they are not secure which was assured by Mugisha Peter the Bushenyi Residence District commissioner.
