LCII CHAIRMAN, RESIDENTS ARRESTED FOR DISOBEYING COURT ORDERS

The chairperson LCII Labongo parish in Pakanyi sub-county, Masindi district Stephen Mugisa has been arrested for allegedly disobeying lawful orders.
Mugisa was arrested yesterday evening by Masindi police station along with four others who included; the chairperson Walyoba village Julius Katusabe, Ben Mbaganyire a resident of Kyabatega, Moses Muhumuza and Fred Musindi both residents of Walyoba village.
They were arrested after reportedly disobeying a court order issued by Masindi court restraining them from a piece of land in the area.
The five and others still at large are wrangling over land with Kyabatega youth farmers group in Pakanyi sub-county which forced the youth group to drag them to court for encroaching on the said land.
The youth group subsequently secured a court order restraining the two parties from developing the disputed land which the suspects allegedly disobeyed leading to their arrest.
The Masindi district officer in-charge of Criminal investigation department (CID) Frank Tankov confirmed the arrest of Mugisa and his colleagues.
He said that they will be produced in court to answer charge of disobeying lawful orders which is a criminal offence.
