Rubanda East Constituency Independent MP aspirant Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema has asked his electorates to consider a candidate’s manifesto and abilities not their religions as they vote for their representative in the coming 14th general elections.
Kenneth Jogo was closing his scientific campaigns held at Kanyabitara, Kigazi ,Nyaruteija and Nangaro polling stations all in Ruhonwa parish Hamurwa Sub County.
Jogo noted that campaigns in the constituency have been marred by divisionism on religious lines, which may affect effective choosing of credible representatives in Rubanda East.
Jogo said that the electorates must prioritize a candidate’s manifesto, and abilities to represent their concerns, but not just voting a candidate because they share a religion.
He noted that all that the electorates want are services not being divided on religious lines for selfish interests.
Two weeks ago, Joan Atwikirize, a resident of Bubaare Sub County, Catherine Asiimwe a resident of Hamurwa Sub County told our reporter that they were recently chased from their churches for lining up behind Jogo in the last concluded NRM primary elections.
They said their catechists and the Kakore parish priest Rev. Fr. Herbert Agaba accused them of voting Jogo, at the expense of a fellow Catholic the incumbent MP Henry Musasizi.
Racheal Ninsiima a resident of Kiyoora in Bubaare Sub County also revealed that Rev. Fr. Agaba refused to baptize her child accusing her of voting Biryabarema an Anglican.
