The Assistant Parish priest Uganda Marty’s catholic Church Mbarara Rev. Fr. Cyril Sasi wants Christians to embrace repentance, reconciliation and prayers as they start their journey of 40 days of lent.
Rev. Fr. Cyril made the remarks today during an Ash Wednesday mass held at Uganda Marty’s church as Christians mark the beginning of Lent season.
Rev. Fr. Cyril further warned politicians who recently assumed different offices to use them diligently urging them to turn back to God for His strength and Will as they serve their communities.
He directed the public that Lent period should be constituted on three major pillars of; praying to God, giving to the needy and repenting as the Bible instructs.
“We need to be patient, hate the sin, reconcile with our brothers and sisters plus giving to the needy,” Fr. Cyril noted.
Christians in Uganda have today joined the rest of the world to Mark the beginning of Lent period which will last for 40 days as they prepare for the death and resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.
