LIGHTNING STRIKE TWO MEN, ONE DIES IN RUKIGA

Lightening struck two men grazing cows and goats which left one dead on spot and another unconscious in Rwamucucu Sub County, Rukiga district.
The victims were identified as Calaveri Twesigye aged 61 and Thadeous Tumukunde, 28, all residents of Rwabatungu village, Noozi parish, Rwamucucu Sub County, Rukiga district.
According to locals, Twesigye died on spot while Tumukunde was rushed to Mparo Health Centre IV in critical condition.
The district councilor representing Rwamucucu Sub County Eddie Mugisha said that the incident occurred yesterday 2nd 2019 at around 02:30PM during a heavy down pour.
He said that the
victims were grazing their cows and goats on top
of Kikuba hill in Noozi parish when they were struck by lightning.
Mugisha said that the heavy rain which started at around 12:30PM lasted for about four hours and it destroyed various gardens of crops.
By press time, the body of the deceased was still lying at the scene as locals prepare to carry out traditional rituals to prevent further similar incident in the families of the victims.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com, the Imam of Taufique Masjid Mubwaara Mosque Shakul Kamushenshera told our reporter that lightening destroyed a bigger part of the mosque.
