LIGHTNING STRIKES IBANDA KILLS SIX EXOTIC COWS

Six exotic cows were on Thursday struck dead by the lightning during a torrential rain in Rukiri sub county in Ibanda district.
According to the LC 1 chairperson, Lonah Agaba, all six cows belonged to Eliasafu Rucwere who hails from Bwenda parish in Rukiri sub county, Ibanda district.
On the fateful day all his cows were in the farm grassing, but when it started raining the animals took cover under the trees. The herdsman who took cover into the house then decided to check on the animals in the farm, but was shocked to find six cows dead.
He raised an alarm that attracted the residents.
The family of Rucwere is said to have lost 16 exotic cows five years age also they were killed by lightning.
Residents gathered at the scene expressed mixed reaction where some advised the affected family to consult a native doctor in the area before the dead animals are slaughtered.
