LIGHTNING STRIKES ONE DEAD, FIVE ADMITTED IN BULIISA DISTRICT

BULIISA:
Lightning on Saturday evening killed one, and left five others admitted at Biiso Health Centre in Biiso Town Council Buliisa district.
The deceased has been identified as Howard Okello 13, son to Mr. Oketch Peter the Mayor of Biiso Town Council in Buliisa district
According to Mr. Chanwat Francis an eyewitness, the incident happened at around 5pm when the children were playing at one the non-operational secondary school’s main hall in Biiso Town Council.
‘’Children were playing in one of the non-operational secondary school’s hall when it was raining, unfortunately, lightning struck one dead while the other four were rushed to Biiso health centre IV in critical condition,’’ he explains.
Chanwat further told our reporter that when they arrived at Biiso Health Centre IV, lightning struck another child bringing the total number of victims to six.
‘’I’m still wondering, Biiso Health Centre IV has lightning resistors, but lightning struck the child, and he is in a critical condition,’’ he wondered.
When contacted on phone, Mr. Oketch Peter confirmed the incident and said that he is not within the district but has been informed that his son has been struck dead by lightning.
‘’I’m not within the district, but I have been informed that my son has been struck dead by lightning,’’ he confirmed.
We couldn’t get a comment from Dr. Otim Peter the In charge Biiso Health Centre IV since his known number was not available by press time.
