MAKERERE UNIVERSITY RESEARCHERS HAILED

The deputy district education officer Kabarole Mrs. Elizabeth Kasesnene has hailed a group of researchers from Makerere University for the research done in Kabarole and Kamwenge district which will help government leaders to implement programs effectively.
Mrs. Kasenene made the remarks when she was giving closing remarks in a meeting held at kitumba council chambers main board room yesterday afternoon.
She urged VHTS and other participants to use research findings to transform their communities and Uganda as a whole for a better future.
Meanwhile, the field supervisor greater Kibiito Mr Ndahiro Pious working with Nutrition Innovation Laboratory for Africa (NILA) a program monitored by Makerere University college of Agriculture and environmental sciences sponsored by USAID found that many people had no self-confidence to create for themselves a destiny hoping all assistance from the government.
Ndahiro appealed the leaders in the sub county of kibiito and Kabarole district to mobilize the locals to help themselves. Furthermore VHT Harriet Mushabe from Kabale trading centre, kibiito Sub County has asked for assistance from political heads to help them as they extend services to the people.
The research which kicked off on November 2014 took a period of 2 years and was aimed at effectiveness of integrated Agriculture, health livelihood and nutrition intervention to improve maternal and child nutrition and health in rural Uganda, a birth cohort study.
