MAN KILLS UNCLE OVER LAND , SUSPECTED WITCHCRAFT IN KYEGEGWA

Police in Kyegegwa district are holding a 27 year old man for allegedly beheading his uncle over land and suspected witchcraft.
According to the Rwenzori West police spokes person Vincent Twesigye , on Sunday night at Kikurungu Kyatega zone Kakabara Kyegegwa Edward Bitekerezo beheaded his uncle Patrick Asaba 57 years of the same area over land and witchcraft .
According to the PRO, the two have been having land disputes for quite sometime and yesterday the suspect at their home grabbed a panga and cut off his uncle’s head.
Twesigye told our reporter that the suspect was arrested and is currently at Kyegewa police station while the body of the deceased  was taken to Kyegegwa district hospital for post mortem.
However, Twesige attributed the murder to use of drugs among the youths which he said have escalated in the area.
He has asked the public to desist from mob justice and change their mindset on witchcraft.
