MAN MURDERS HIS OWN BROTHER, HANDS HIMSELF TO POLICE

A 25-year-old resident of Kyekuriira Cell, Bisya ward in Rubindi-Ruhumba Town council, Mbarara district on Wednesday morning, handed himself over to police after he allegedly murdered his own brother.
Eugene Ainamaziima is said to have stabbed his brother Crispino Ainebyoona to death after a protracted misunderstanding between the two brothers.
ASP Andrew Agume the Officer in charge of Rubindi police station told our reporter that Ainamaziima, after allegedly murdering his brother on Tuesday this week, freed to Ibanda where switched to Kazo district and later to Kiruhura district from where he called his father via phone that he wanted to come home.
He said the suspect after calling his father he hired a boda boda from Kiruhura district to Ruhumba trading Centre where he was received by the area councilor a one Justus who later took him to Rubindi police station in fear of being mob lynched.
ASP Agume explained that the suspect narrated the ordeal to the officers at Rubindi police station, leading to his arrest.
“Ainamaziima narrated to police officers who were around that him and his dead brother Crispino Ainebyoona had a protracted misunderstanding, so with a lot annoyance, he decided to get a panga and cut him to death” Agume said.
ASP Agume said the suspect was immediately arrested and thus warned the public against taking the law into their hands.
