MAN ON RUN AFTER HACKING GRANDFATHER TO DEATH OVER FAMILY LAND IN KAKUMIRO

Police in Kakumiro are hunting for 24 year old man who hacked his grandfather to death over land
Mathias Katayimba 24, a resident of Buhonda village Kisiita Sub County in Kakumiro district hacked his grandfather after he stopped him from selling part of their family land.
This happened on the night of Wednesday at around 11PM. Katayimba stormed the home of his grandfather, David Ngumbia and hacked him severally with a machete.
Rose Kyaligonza, a resident said that by the time they responded to Ngumbi’s alarm for help, he had already breathed his last.
ASP Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, told www.mknewslink.com reporter that residents found the deceased’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood inside his house.
“We have launched manhunt and investigations of suspect who fled from the scene and appeals to anybody with relevant information on his whereabouts to notify the nearby police.” Hakiza added.
Police picked the lifeless body of David Ngumbia and took it to Kakumiro health Center IV for postmortem.
