MAN SMASHES FATHER’S HEAD IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a 40 year old man who allegedly cut his biological father to death.

The Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the suspect as Andrew Basheija who smashed his father’s head with a panga.

It’s alleged that the deceased has always advised the son to leave alcohol, since after drinking he would be a problem to the entire family members.

On the 2nd July, 2022 at around 1100hrs, he targeted when the father had remained with two young grand children who would not provide any assistance and severely cut him in the head.

He was rushed to Nyakibale hospital where he died moments later.

The incident was reported at CPS Rukungiri scene of crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O and team, while postmortem Examination is still pending.

The police PRO asked the public to alert the police in case they see suspect so that he is brought to book and answer charges accordingly.

Police and locals have already initiated a hunt for the suspect while a case of murder by cutting was registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference CRB 609/2022.
