MAN STEALS KANUNGU CHURCH MUSIC SYSTEM, ARRESTED

Police in Kanungu are holding one person in connection with the theft
of music system that belonged to St.peters church Nyakatare. The music system was
stolen on Thursday last week.
Joab wabwire, the district police commander identified the suspect as
one Katende a resident of Nyakatunguru in Kasese district who was
arrested on Wednesday 30th November as he tried to transport a big
speaker.
“we have arrested one katende we found trying to take the sound
speaker we believe is one of the music system stolen from the church
last week from Kihiihi to Kasese” Wabwire said.
Wabwire adds that investigations have been on going until Katende’s arrest.
“we are going to use the vital information the suspect has provided to
arrest his gang and recover other Music systems still missing” said
Wabwire.
He says Katende’s arrest followed a concern from a taxi driver one
salongo who asked Katende for a receipt for the speaker which he
failed to provide.
“we received a call from a concerned citizen, so as swung in action
and arrested the suspect” .
He called on the public to be vigilant of such people especially now
that a festive season is drawing closer.
