The acting Masindi District Production Officer, Prudence Alituha who lost an application at Masindi High Court to stay in office yesterday has been given two days to hand it over.
Alituhas application to compel the Chief Administrative Officer(CAO), John Nyakahuma to mantain the changes where Dr Fred Sebuguzi the District Veterinary Officer was assigned as acting District Production Officer was on Tuesday dismissed by the assistant Registrar of Masindi High Court Simon Zirintusa Kintu.
Kintu ruled that Alituha failed to convince court that she will suffer an irreparable loss when the interim order is not granted.
Nyakahuma, the CAO has thus written to Alituha giving up to today this week to have handed over the office before disciplinary action be taken against her.
In an interview with www.mknewslink.com Nyakahuma defended his action saying he was implementing the district council resolution which said the production office must be rotated between three principal officers
Nyakahuma blamed Alituha who is the principal fisheries officer for rushing to courts of law without first using other avenues as spelt out under Local Government Act Cap. 243. He said the Act gives opportunity an officer who is aggrieved by the CAO to go to the District Service Commission for redress.
He added that in case the officer still feels dissatisfied, she would have rushed to Public Service Commission. However, Alituha did not exploit all these avenues.
