MASINDI DISTRICT COUNCILORS, LCV BOSS RECONCILE

Masindi district councilors who petitioned the speaker seeking to impeach the district chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga have dropped their move and reconciled with him.
The two parties reconciled yesterday evening during a reconciliatory meeting that was chaired by the chairperson Inter-religious council for Bunyoro region who is also the Bishop MasindiKitara diocese Rt. Rev. George William Kasangaki at Nyamigisa catholic parish headquarters yesterday.
The parties that have been at loggerheads for close to a month, hugged as a sign of reconciliation at the end of a closed door meeting which lasted for over nine hours.
While addressing the press after the meeting which ended a few minutes to 7:00pm, Bishop Kasangaki said that both parties accepted to work together for the development of the district.
He added that the councilors also agreed to bury their differences and to forgive one another.
However a source which attended the meeting told www.mknewslink.com that the issue of district Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with the council which caused the conflict between the councilors and the district chairperson remained unresolved.
According to the source, the re conciliatory meeting was attended by 21 councilors of the 23 councilors who form Masindi district council. RobinahKatusiime, the female councilor for people with disabilities and KanaginagiAteenyi, the male councilor for Pakanyi Sub County missed the meeting with apology.
The other religious leaders who attended the reconciliatory meeting included Father Paul Bigirwa the Episcopal vicar Masindi vicariate, Sheik Hahaya Mugisa Safian, the district Khadh Masindi, Pastor Robert Kibuuka from Masindi Miracle center and KiizaYesero from the seventh day Adventists church among others.
