MASINDI DISTRICT OVERWHELMED BY CRIMINALS: FOUR PEOPLE MURDERED, POLICE VOWS TO SHOOT ON SIGHT

Police in Masindi has intensified operations following the increased murders and robberies in the district.
In the last three months over four murders and three robberies have occurred in the district something which has left Masindi residents in fear.
According to Edwin Atukunda, the Acting district police commander Masindi,they are now applying new tactics in their method of work and also deployed in the hot spots.
Atukunda also warns the people of Masindi to avoid places which are suspected be for criminals noting that whoever found there will be arrested.
He also said that they have made several arrests in connection with the killings and robberies but declined to divulge their details.
He also said that whoever will be found in wrong places and fails to surrender will be shot at noting that they cannot sit and look on when people are dying. He also called upon the public to give police enough information such that criminals are fought in Masindi.
He also warned the people against tempering with the scene whenever murders happen saying that tempering with the scene jeopardizes police’s investigations something which gives upper hand to the criminals.
Last week, the Masindi district, LCV Cosmas Byaruhanga petitioned the IGP and the police in Masindi demanding for an explanation as to why police in Masindi has failed to protect the of Masindi.
