Masindi general hospital is stuck with an unclaimed body which was dumped in the hospital by police on Saturday last week.
Vincent Katusiime the Masindi Medical supretendant says that the body was brought alongside other two bodies of the people who perished in an accident which happened on Saturday last week at Isimba village in Bwijanga sub county Masindi district.
He adds that three bodies were brought to the hospital mortuary and he did post mortem on the two bodies as instructed by police and the two bodies were taken by the relatives.
Katusiime says that they are now stuck with the decomposing body and they do not know the origin of the deceased. He explains that when he checked the body he found it with extensive fracture on the left side of the head and a deep wound on the cheek.
He also notes that they wrote to Masindi municipal council to intervene and burry the body but up to now they have not yet got any response.
Katusiime called upon the community to come to the hospital and check the body and see how to help each other.
When contacted the Masindi municipal town clerk, John Behangana confirmed receipt of the hospital’s letter saying that they are now processing the money but they have a challenge in the financial system. He however promised that by the end of this week the body would have been buried.
