MASINDI HIGH COURT TO GIVE RULING IN JALIA BINTU VS ALED ELECTION PETITION ON 28TH SEPT.2021

Masindi High Court has set 28th September 2021 as ruling date of petition between Jalia Bintu Lukumu and Hon. Ronald Akugizibwe Aled.
The court will give its final verdict regarding the electoral petition between Jalia Bintu Lukumu Ngonzi Vs Electoral Commission, on Aled Ronald Akugizibwe, Kabindi Steven and Banage Fredrick Bitamale.
Bintu ran to Masindi High Court challenging the victory of Akugizibwe over failure to resign from civil service. On Tuesday court started hearing the petitions, and Akugizibwe’s petition was the first to be heard.
In his statements, Justice Musa Sekaana the head of the Civil Division Court who is handling the petition urged different parties involved in the case to avoid rumors noting that he is at the court to give justice.
In his final words, Justice Sekaana said Masindi High Court will on the 28th of September pronounce the final ruling on the parliamentary election between Jalia Bintu Lukumu Ngonzi Vs Electoral Commission, Hon Aled Ronald Akugizibwe, Kabindi Steven and Banage Fredrick Bitamale.
Recently, the Judiciary notified the public that it had received money to help dispose of a total of 155 parliamentary and local council election petitions around the country.
According to Justice Musa Ssekana’s petition’s timetable, on the 19th and 20th of August he will listen to the petition of Daniel Muhairwe Vs Twinomujuni Francis Kaziini.
On the 21st and 23rd of August the court will listen to the petition of Jack Oduru Vs Jacob Karubanga of Kibanda South.
On the 27th of August the court will listen to the petition of Kahombo Mildred Vs Doctor Asiimwe Florence among other petitions that are scheduled to be handled from the said court.
