MASINDI PLE RESULTS: FEMALE PUPIL EMERGES BEST WITH 5 AGGREGATES

Janet Kataha Museveni the Minister for Education and Sports yesterday officially released the results for Primary Leaving Examination for the year 2020.
According to the preliminary results, Karungi Jemimah Kamese a pupil at St. Lawrence Nursery and Primary school is the best candidate in Masindi district with 5 aggregates.
The school which had fifteen candidates last year has managed to have ten pupils in first grade, four in second grade and one in third grade.
Lawrence Byarugaba the director St. Lawrence Nursery and Primary explains that it’s the first time his school sitting for the primary leaving examination. He has attributed the performance to the dedicated staff.
Boniface Amanya the deputy head teacher Zion Palace Nursery and Primary School explains that they are still compiling the results. He however said out of the twenty five candidates they had last year, ten have got first grade and five are in second noting they are still filing others.
Rafael Ladwor the head teacher Light School Masindi notes that they haven’t received all results adding that some have been withheld over incomplete school dues. “Out of seventeen candidates, we have received results for six candidates. One has got first grade, four have got second while one has got third.” He noted.
The head teacher has also attributed the performance to dedicated teachers noting that if it wasn’t corona virus and lockdown, they would have performed better than this.
Charles Alinda a candidate at Kabalega Primary School who scored 13 aggregates at a government school says that hr has revising the pass PLE newspaper, government package, pass papers and some text books which his mother bought for him when schools were closed.
Oliver Aloevra the mother of Alinda explains that since boda bodas were banned from carrying people, they faced a problem of transport forcing Alinda to foot long distance from Kijura school.
IP Peter Mukasa the Community Liaisons Officer Masindi has cautioned parents and school directors from have celebrations either at school or homes noting that it can be done by family members only but not in big numbers.
The police officer has asked the public to report those who are holding celebrations to the nearest police station. “Whoever will be caught celebrating will be arrested because we are hardly struggling with the pandemic.” He noted.
