MASINDI POLICE HUNT FOR KITARA MODEL SS TEACHER FOR ASSAULTING STUDENT

Police in Masindi district have ordered the management of Kitara Model secondary school in Masindi municipality to produce its teacher who is accused of assaulting a student of the same school.
This comes after Felix Ereso reportedly assaulted Lona Kia a senior three student on 27th May this year and severely injured her which prompted her parent to withdraw her from the school and filed a case of assault and causing grievous bodily harm against him.
While speaking to www.mknewslink.com, the district police commander (DPC) Samuel Odongo revealed that police had recorded statements from both the parent and the assaulted student on the matter but had not recorded a statement from Ereso after he failed to report to police despite being summoned.
The DPC added that after teacher failed to honor police summon, they have written to the school head teacher Praise Gift Orihsaba and the school director David Turyagumanawe directing them to produce him within three days.
However Odongo noted that police may be forced to take action against the two school managers if they fail to produce the teacher within the stipulated period.
Our reporter could not get a comment from the two school managers on the matter as they could not answer our calls.
However last week Orishaba told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the matter had been administratively handled before denying the incident and disassociating herself and the school from the teacher later.
