MASINDI POLICE MOUNT SEARCH FOR ASSAILANTS GUN

Security agencies in Masindi district have launched a search for a gun
suspected to have been used to gun down a Nile Breweries driver on Monday in Masindi town.
On Monday night, Francis Mugisa; a resident of Kihande cell and a driver with Nile breweries depot belonging to Bunyoro Kingdom minister Rujumba Kahigwa, was yesterday shot dead at Kirasa trading Centre, at the entrance of Masindi town on Masindi-Kampala road.
Mugisa was driving a Nile Breweries Fuso lorry registration number UAU 769A and was returning from Bweyale town in Kiryandongo district after supplying beer.
Speaking to our reporter, Allan Hakiza, the police spokesperson for the
Albertine region, said that the operation is going to continue in the
entire district until they recover the gun and the suspects.
He added that they are also going to conduct a search and investigations in the entire region noting that the suspects might have vacated the district planning to carry out more attacks elsewhere.
Today morning all roads leading to Masindi town were closed by army men
thus stopping people from accessing their work places until 10:00 am.
