MASINDI SCHOOL CLOSED OVER LACK OF REQUIREMENTS

Pakanyi Sub-county authorities in Masindi District and the district education department have reportedly closed a school in the area for illegal operation and student neglect.
Trust Future secondary and technical college, a private education institution has been operating in Kyatiri town council.
According to Charles Bitekerezo, the Pakanyi Sub-county speaker Pakanyi Sub-county councillor, the school was closed this yesrerday.
Bitekerezo told www.mknewslink.com that the school which opened in July this year and operating a rented commercial building had more than 40 students all of them reportedly hailing Nebbi district.
The speaker added that the closure of the school followed its proprietor Aziz Badrus failure to produce an operating license from the Ministry of Education.
The school is reported to have been lacking enough teachers, classrooms, accommodation and food for students which prompted the sub-county authorities to inform the district education department that ordered for the school closure.
Bitekerezo explained that at the time the authorities visited the school, its proprietor was not present forcing the authorities to mobilise for vehicles that took the students back to Nebbi.
During the exercise, the Masindi District Police Commander, Samuel Odongo liaised with his Nebbi counterpart before the students were taken back, the speaker added.
Bitekerezo revealed that the inspector of schools in charge Buruli County, Godfrey Baharagate was yet to give a circular to the school proprietor formally informing him of the schools closure.
Mk newslink.com could not reach the school proprietor, Aziz Badru, on the matter since his known mobile phone number was switched off by the time of filing this story.
When contacted, the inspector of schools in charge of Buruli County, Godfrey Baharagate, denied knowledge of the matter.
