MASINDI WOMAN MP ELECTION PETITION TO BE HEARD ON 28TH SEPT.2021
In Masindi—
Justice Musa Sekaana the head of the Civil Division Court has this afternoon set 28th September 2021 ruling date for the petition filed by Mildred Kahombo against Dr. Florence Asiimwe the Woman Member of Parliament for Masindi district.
Justice Musa asked the Petitioner (Kahombo Mildred) to file the case within one week (10th, Sept, 2021), and court will deliver its judgement on 28th, Sept, 2021 at 2pm.
Mildred Kahombo ran to Masindi High Court challenging the victory of Dr. Florence Asiimwe the Woman Member of Parliament for Masindi District.
Kahombo cited that Asiimwe was involved in vote bribery and she didn’t officially resign from being the minister in the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
Suzan Zemei the lawyer representing Mildred Kahombo prayed to court to guide them and wanted to know whether Asiimwe officially resigned from the ministerial role.
According to Simon Kasangaki the Lawyer representing Dr. Florence Asiimwe, his client wrote on one of the WhatsApp group saying that she has spent a lot during the campaigns, and the opponent screen shot the post and printed it out as evidence that his client was involved in vote bribery.
Kasangaki also told our reporter that court has rejected the evidence because they (Kahombo) lacked internal memo about it, and it was swaged deal.
Addressing the Journalists shortly after the court, Hon. Dr. Florence Asiimwe the Woman Member of Parliament for Masindi District assured her electorates that she will win the case since her position at the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom is voluntarily.
