MASINDI WOMAN TO SPEND 50 YEARS IN JAIL OVER MURDER

Masindi high court on Friday sentenced a 50 year old woman to 50 year jail term for murder.
Alexia Kobusingye, a resident of Mabaale village in Kagadi district was sentenced by Masindi visiting judge,Justice Anna Bitature after finding her guilty of murdering David Kamusime in 2016.
Prosecution led by Athurton Kukundakwe stated that on 10th/2/2016 Kobusingye hired Soleka Christopher and Aloho Ismail at 3million to shot dead Kamusime at his home in Kibingo Karama in Kabyoya sub county Kikube district.
It added that Kamusiime had started demanding Kobusingye the balance her later husband owed him for the land he had sold him before his death.
Prosecution added that Kobusingye was later arrested on 13th March 2016 by Hoima police and was later taken to court that sent her on remand in Masindi government prison where she has been since then.
Soleka and Aloho were also arrested in connection with the same and later confessed to the charge and were sentenced to 30year jail each by court after they pleaded guilty but Kobusingye denied hiring them to kill Kamusime.
Justice Bitature sentenced Kobusingye to 50 years which include the four years the accused has spent on remand.
