MASINDI’S TWO YEAR OLD CHILD PERISH IN FIRE

Police in Masindi district are investigating circumstances under which a two year old child in Kihonda Kiryampati village Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district died in fire.
According to Tankovu Frank, the OC CID Masindi district, the incident happened yesterday evening and police rushed to the scene picked the body and took it to Masindi hospital for postmortem.
Mbabazi Johnson, the relative to the deceased says that fire started from the bush and gutted the neighboring house where the child was, he noted that the children who had been left at home were too young to rescue the child from the fire.
He adds that by the time the incident happened the mother to the deceased identified as Topista Businge had gone to the neighbors to meet her group members to carry out some savings.
David Babaihirwe, the area councilor Labongo Parish, blamed the mother to the deceased for being irresponsible.
He also warned residents of Labongo Parish to stop taking laws in their hands adding that people who always need to set fires should always get permission from the concerned people.
