The retiring Mayor for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality his lordship Jackson Kamugasha has broken silence and revealed why he was never nominated for another term after a window was opened following death of candidate James Magezi
“I could not come back to get nominated because I had told people of Bushenyi Ishaka that I had retired, I did not want to turn against my words,”Kamugasha noted.
Kamugasha told www.mknewslink.com managing editor that he doesnot want to be like other leaders including president Museveni who turn against their words concerning retirement from politics.
He never commented on allegations that he refused to go for nominations due to the fact that his grandson Derrick Kabuura Baimukye is in the MP race for the same municipality.

He has led the municipality as a mayor for two terms and his last term is ending in 2021 May.
Martin Mumpe Rushegyera was the only nominated mayoral candidate and he is expected to tussle it out with Donnah Karukubiro of ANT, Richard Byaruhanga NRM, Lucas Muhangi Independent and Guma Gumisiriza FDC.
