MBARARA: 2 POLICE IMPERSONATORS SHOT DURING CURFEW

Two men are nursing injuries at Mbarara regional referral hospital after they shot at as they claimed they were officers enforcing curfew.
The two were yesterday shot by the police during curfew hours while the third one escaped.
ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police mouthpiece told journalists that they were tipped off by Mwesigye Edson a business man in Kakoba Ward, Mbarara city that three men moving in a white double cabin Reg.no UAB 647T were disguising as police officers and robbing people.
Kasasira told www.mknewslink.com that Mwesigye reported that the three had robbed him of 340,000 and 04 cartoons of Soda on the 21/06/2021 while they took two million shillings from his colleague Phenix Kambale on the 19th June 2021.
The Police PRO intimated to www.mknewslink that they tried to intervene but the three were running away which forced them to shoot out, injuring two while the third one is still at large.
He revealed that they recovered exhibits of; two pangas, three iron bars and two army caps from the impounded vehicle.
The vehicle is currently parked at Mbarara Central police station; two assailants are receiving treatment at Mbarara regional referral hospital while police are hunting for the third assailants.
