MBARARA: 40 YEAR OLD UPDF RETIRED OFFICER ARRESTED FOR RAPING TODDLER

Police in Mbarara are holding a 40 year old man for allegedly defiling a 4 year toddler.
The suspect identified as Alex Tumusiime hails from Bugashe cell, Nyakayojo division in Mbarara Municipality.
According to Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi police spokesperson, the suspect was arrested over the weekend from Rwentondo where he had gone into hidding
“It is alleged that Tumusiime had ran away after allegedly doing the offence on May 3rd 2020,”Kasasira said.
According to the mother of the suspect, Tumusiime took the advantage of the child when she(mother) was not around and defiled it and left it bleeding in abdominal parts.
Medical examination showed that the girl was raped and the suspect also tested positive for HIV/AIDS.
The suspect is detained at Mbarara Central police station as they wait for the return of his file from the resident state attorney.
