MBARARA : 7 FAMILY MEMBERS KILLED BY THEIR OWN

Residents in Nombe 2B village, kashare parish, Rubindi sub county mbarara District was shocked when a woman sick with mental disorders killed 7 people of her family and disappeared.

The incident happened on 2^nd june2019 at around 7:30am when Kyomuhangi Lydia aged 65 lost her mind and picked her grand children from their parents, bought for them soda and biscuits gathered them in kitchen eating.

Then she went to the main house with a panga cut her husband identified as Hangamisho George injuring him with several injuries and after went to the next bedroom in which her daughter also mad identified as Kyomukama Annet was tied and chopped her to death.

As that was not enough, Lydia went on to the kitchen where she had left children enjoying drinks and cut all six to death then disappeared immediately.

The deceased were identified as Osbert Nuwamanya 8 years, Oscar Tarimweba 5 years, mercy Owomugisha Baby girl of 6 months, Claire Ankunda 5 years, Adela Orishaba baby girl of 9 months, Apophia kanshabe 10years.

DPC Mbarara led a team of officers to visit the scene and their bodies were taken to Mbarara regional referral Hospital for post mortem.

The other Mzee Hangamisho George was also taken to mbarara Hospital for treatment but in bad conditions.

As the suspect is still on run, it has been established from the scene that  Lydia has been suffering from seasonal madness/mental disorder.
