Mbarara district chairman Capt. JB Tumusiime Bamuturaki has revealed that the district headquarters will relocated to Bwizibwera as soon as they get the required funds.
There is a bitter disagreement between Mbarara city council leaders and Mbarara district officials over the delayed relocation of district headquarters from Kamukuzi to Bwizibwera.
The district headquarters are supposed to be shifted from Kamukuzi to Bwizibwera so that the structures at Kamukuzi are used for City Offices which are currently at Booma.
However, Capt. JB. Tumusiime Bamuturaki the district chairman says that they are yet to receive funds of two billion shillings from the government to cater for the district relocation to Bwizibwera.
“We are just being delayed by the government. If we are given money even tomorrow we can shift to Bwizibwera,” Bamuturaki said during a talk show at Crooze FM.
Bamuturaki revealed that some of the offices have already been shifted to Bwizibwera though others have not yet but assured that they will relocate any time possible.
Bamuturaki is now appealing to his fellow leaders to be calm as the district waits for funds from the government.
