Mbarara District boss Didas Tabaro has clashed with Loydah Twinomujuni the lady Councilor for Rubaya Sub County over School Construction.
This took place in Council meeting held on Tuesday in the district Council hall, Kamukuzi Mbarara District headquarters, after councilors resolved to remove Kashaka primary school from the school facility grant and include Omukigando primary school which councilors say it’s in a sorry state.
Mbarara District Council had selected four schools that include; Omukigando primary school, Kashaka primary school, Amabaare primary school and Omukarungu primary school that were supposed to benefit from the special facilities Grant.
Loydah Twinomujuni the Lady councilor representing Rubaya Sub county asked the District executive committee led by Didas Tabaro to transfer resources meant for Kashaka primary school to Omukigando Primary school in Rubaya Sub county so that they construct better classroom blocks for the school which is at the verge of collapsing.
Omukigando Primary school currently has an enrollment of One hundred twelve girls and One hundred sixteen boys.
The district Council by voting resolved that they construct better classrooms at Omukigando primary school instead of taking the funds to Kashaka primary school in Bubaare Sub County which councilors say is in better shape compared to the former.
However, while responding to the matter, the District chairman Mr. Didas Tabaro faulted councilors for not following the work plan in the budget that was approved by them.
He noted that all the four schools will benefit contrary to council’s resolution of excluding Kashaka primary school.
