MBARARA HOUSE FIRE CLAIMS ONE YEAR OLD CHILD

Police in Mbarara city are investigating circumstances under which fire gutted a house killing a one -year-old boy.
The fire also destroyed property worth millions of shillings.
The shocking incident occured on Friday at around 12:30 noon in Biafra cell, Mbarara city.
Preliminary information indicates that the parents of the one-year- old baby had left him sleeping in their rented house at Valley Inn Guest House and fire believed to be as a result of a short circuit gutted the house.
Hamada Ssendi the Chairman Biafra cell said locals tried putting off the fire using water and soil and further revealed that properties worth millions were reduced to ashes by the fire.
Gilbert Asingwire the father of the deceased child told this online publication that he had gone for work and later received a phone call from one of the residents that his rental house was on fire.
By the time we filed this story police fire brigade team had intervened and the torso of the deceased taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem.
