MBARARA: MAN ARRESTED TRYING TO VOTE USING ANOTHER PERSON’S VOTER SLIP

Police and the army in Mbarara city have today arrested a man while trying to vote with another person’s voter Slip.
The yet to be identified man in his 20s was arrested at Kakoba Moslem primary school polling station, Mbarara city south, Mbarara city.
Akida Pembe Salongo the area councilor representing Kakoba ward 1 (Kyapotani Cell) at Kakoba division told www.mknewslink.com that the suspect whose name was not in the vote register arrived at the polling station with another person’s voters slip.
On interrogation by security operatives that were deployed at the polling station, the suspect noted that he was bribed with 3000shs by one of the candidates whose name he did not disclose so that he could vote him.
By the time of this publication, the suspect had been taken to Mbarara Central Police Station awaiting to be charged.
