The Mbarara district Operation Wealth Coordinator (OWC) Major Sam Karogo raised concern over NAADS failure to support local suppliers which he says that it has also affected local farmers.
Karogo noted that NAADS together with ministry officials come and inspect local input suppliers but end up getting
suppliers from other regions and these inputs are always affected by long distance transportation.
He thus urged authorities to always consider local suppliers first to prevent such expenses.
Meanwhile, Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has come out to refute claims by the media that their national coordinator Gen. Salim Saleh while in Gulu said that soldiers messed up OWC.
In a press Release dated 15th May 2018 signed by OWC Public Relations Officer Maj. Kiconco Tabaro, refutes the claims saying that Gen. Saleh was misquoted and misinterpreted by the media and that statements attributed to him are false.
Tabaro however, noted that they have challenges in implementation of OWC such as late deliveries of inputs, misallocation of inputs, among others.
