MBARARA POLICE DEPLOY HEAVILY TO DISPERSE ROWDY BODA BODA CYCLISTS.

Police in Mbarara district has deployed at Mbarara city council offices to disperse Boda Boda riders who demanded the arrest of Ronald Kiggundu, the chairperson of the independent Bodaboda riders electoral commission.

Sadious Owokunda, the former chairperson of the group says that Kiggundu over the weekend appeared on one of the radio station in town asking boda boda cyclists to converge at Kakyeka Stadium to choose their leaders.

They say that Kiggundu has insisted on holding the election that was scheduled to take place on 13th Dec 2022 thus defying the directives of the city leadership.

Addressing the boda boda riders earlier today, IP Swizin Tibesigwa the Officer in charge Operations Mbarara City guided them not to cause commotion in the city.

However, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner Mbarara North division Robert Kanusu has suspended the election until further notice.
