MBARARA: PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT KYOMUKAMA, TWO OTHER PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR HOLDING UNLAWFUL MEETING

A Presidential aspirant from Mbarara alongside two other people was yesterday 27th July 2020 arrested holding unlawful meeting in Kijungu market cell, Nyamityoobora ward, Kakoba division, Mbarara city.
Ambrose Kyomukama a presidential aspirant who is running on an independent ticket was arrested for holding unlawful meeting that is contrary to the ministry of health guidelines on COVID 19 and electoral commission that prohibits open air campaigns.
According to Rwizi region police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira, Ambrose was arrested with Maxon Kiiza a resident of Nkokonjeru cell, Kamukuzi division Mbarara city and Magaragangye Isaac aged 30 years a resident of Kiyanja cell Kamukuzi division Mbarara city
Kasasira noted that two vehicles; FUSO registration number UAP 262U and a Toyota Premio UAW 715 were also impounded as they were being used in mobilisation of the masses.
Kasasira noted that the three suspects have been charged with disobedience of lawful orders, holding unlawful procession and negligence likely to spread infection.
