MBARARA: PRISON WARDER SHOOTS FEMALE COLLEAGUE DEAD, KILLS HIMSELF

Police in Mbarara City are investigating circumstances under which a prison warder shot a female colleague dead before shooting himself too.

No.19015 Aloysious Chemutai aged 27, attached to Kakiika Prison shot and killed No.19109 Prison Wardress Adong Magodalena aged 24, attached to Prison Academy and Training School Luzira.

It is said that Adong had traveled to Mbarara to visit Chemutai with whom she has been in a relationship.

ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Police mouthpiece told www.mknewslink.com that preliminary investigations indicate on the 11/06/2022 Prison Wardress Adong Magodalena paid a visit to Warder Chemutai Aloysious at Kakiika prison but yesterday 13/06/2022 while on duty Warder Chemutai shot and killed Adong Magodalena  then turned the gun on himself.

Kasasira added that Police visited the scene and recovered the killer weapon SMG Rifle No.UG PRI 49001094-01247 with 24 rounds of ammunition and three cartilages of the discharged bullets.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Mbarara Regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem as inquiries into the matter continue.
