MBARARA RCC VOWS TO DEAL WITH CHURCH LEADERS, FOLLOWERS OVER COVID 19 SOPS VIOLATION

Mbarara Resident City Commissioner Lt. Col. James Mwesigye has vowed to arrest church leaders and their follower for violating the set COVID 19 SOPs.
Briefing the press at his office in Booma , Col. Mwesigye revealed that it has come to his notice that some church leaders allow more than 200 people in church while others conduct over nights.
He told the press that they will deploy their officers to arrest whoever is acting in disregard of the set guidelines.
In the presidential address on COVID 19 , President Museveni re-opened churches after 3 months of closure, but gave a maximum number of 200 people , under strict COVID 19 Standard Operating Procedures which include hand washing facilities at places of worship, Wearing of facial masks, social distancing among others.
Meanwhile, the Mbarara Referral hospital Dr. Celestine Barigye said that apparently the hospital has 10 COVID 19 patients admitted in the hospital’s COVID 19 isolation unit.
