The backlog of COVID19 patients at Mbarara regional referral hospital has finally reduced with now only four patients admitted at the hospital isolation unit.
Dr. Celestine Barigye the Mbarara regional referral hospital director told www.mknewslink.com that since May, 2020 the hospital has handled 550 COVID 19 cases; 518 recoveries, four current cases and 28 COVID 19 related deaths.
Barigye noted that 317 COVID 19 patients received treatment from their respective homes and recovered.
“Our doctors who have been handling COVID 19 patients can now relax” Barigye can be quoted.
Barigye says that this will also give the hospital ample time to re-organize the hospital isolation unit plus expanding it in order to accommodate huge number of COVID 19 patients in case they increase again.
However, Barigye applauded the public for their continued adherence to COVID 19 SOPs and also feeding on immunity boosting foods.
