MBARARA REFERRAL HOSPITAL SENIOR MEDIC CHEATS DEATH IN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.

Mbarara Referral Hospital senior nutrition specialist Dr Dalton Babukiika is under close monitoring at TMR international hospital in Kampala following the road traffic accident that he was involved in the wee hours of (Saturday) morning.
Though the details of the accident are still scanty, Halson Kagure the Mbarara Referral Hospital Public Relations Officer told journalists that it occurred at Nalya in Uganda’s capital Kampala.
The Public Relations Officer Kagure through the hospital official social media pages said that Dr Dalton was traveling from Kampala to Mbarara. Though social media has been awash with the news that six people were involved in the same accident, PRO Kagure has dismissed allegations confirming that Dr Dalton was the only occupant at the time of the accident.
“Dr Dalton is our senior medic & is in stable condition at TMR Hospital. Medics there are doing all what it takes to ensure that he gets the best”, Halson Kagure says.
According to Halson Kagure Dr Dalton was driving in his car registration no UBF 288 C and a notebook that is circulating on social media contains the list of nutritionists in Ankole region.
Kagure said that that list was earlier requested by the assistant commissioner at the ministry of health for something to do with a nutrition exercise.
However, these members are said to have traveled back a day before there fore they weren’t part of the accident as alleged by some social media users.
Dr Celestine Barigye, the Mbarara Referral Hospital boss has thanked God who has kept Dr Dalton’s life out of danger.
The cause of the accident according to Dr Barigye is yet to be acertain adding that through the public relations officer they will be providing details to the media as soon as they are made available by police.
Dr Barigye added that they are in touch with medics attending to Dr Dalton and there are high chances that he will be better soon.
Meanwhile, Dr Barigye has encouraged road users to always be careful while using the road adding that road traffic accident is still a menace in the region.
The Mbarara Referral Hospital boss argues that in most accident and emergency wards accident account for a huge chunk of victims.
He also urged bodaboda cyclists to always observe traffic rules adding that those who are not qualified shouldn’t be allowed on the road.
