MBARARA REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL RECEIVES PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WORTH 9.2M

In Mbarara—
Uganda Medical Association on Thursday donated personal protective equipment worth 9.2 million Ug shs to Mbarara regional referral hospital in a bid to combat the COVID 19 pandemic.
The equipment included 23 boxes of face masks, 13 aprons ,45 face shields, 150 portable hand sanitizers, 10 liters Jerrycans and 2 boxes of gloves and were handed over to the director Mbarara regional referral hospital on Thursday.
While handing over the equipment, the president of Uganda Medical Association Dr. Richard Idro said that they are distributing the Person protective equipment to all the regional referral hospitals country wide to help them in the fight against covid 19 pandemic.
In her remarks, the in charge of covid 19 isolation center at Mbarara regional referral hospital Dr .Rose Muhindo promised to use the equipment diligently
She explained that so far no health worker at Mbarara regional refferal hospital has contracted the deadly Corona virus
The director Mbarara regional referral hospital Dr Celestine Barigye hailed the Uganda Medical Association for helping them in the situation
Relatedly, Rwampara District also received a pick up double cabin and two motorcycles from the ministry of health aimed at easing transportation of health workers in the district
While receiving them Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi the acting RDC for Rwampara District tasked the district health officer (DHO) that the vehicle and the motorcycles should be put in good use especially in the fight against covid 19
In his remarks, the DHO Rwampara district Dr. Allan Twesigyeomwe pledged to use the vehicles efficiently as it will be supporting the district health teams in responding to the suspected case’s call from the community
