MBARARA: RESIDENTS UP IN ARMS WITH MPS OVER EMPTY PROMISES

This came to limelight in a meeting they chaired today (Monday) to meet their area Members of Parliament that is Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari and Ritah Bwahiika flopped.
Residents intimated to this online website that their Members of parliament have failed to lobby for them services such as electricity which they had fronted in their manifestos during the 2021 general elections.
Robert Atwiine a councilor representing Rwemigiina ward in Biharwe says as local leaders, they have resolved to petition the ministry of energy in order to have electricity extended to their area.
He asserts that they have involved their member of parliament Rukaari who furiously told them to petition the ministry of energy themselves.
Francis Kambamu the chairperson local Council 3 Rwemigiina ward in Biharwe says of the 13 cells in Rwemigiina ward only 2 cells have managed to get electricity.
Kambamu says this has crippled service delivery In the area where by residents are leaving in darkness.
He adds that as local leaders they decided to involve in their area Members of parliament but surprisingly they have continued to snub their meetings.
Earlier this month ,the same Residents from Bunusya and Rwemigiina wards organized a meeting at Lake view hotel in Mbarara city but still their members of parliament snubbed their meeting.
